Data sources & collection
This page explains how LeadAtlas collects and processes business data. We are transparent about our approach: we rely on publicly available information and open-source intelligence (OSINT) practices. We do not access private systems or use stolen datasets.
1. Our legal principle
We collect and index information that is published for the public or otherwise available without bypassing access controls. We do not hack systems, circumvent authentication, purchase leaked databases, or use unauthorized access to private accounts or networks.
- Sources are public or intentionally published for general visibility.
- No access to data behind private login walls without permission.
- No collection of passwords, private content, or stolen datasets.
- Use of the platform must comply with local laws (including anti-spam and data-protection rules).
2. Where the data comes from
Business records and related signals may be derived from the following categories of public sources:
Public business directories and mapping platforms
Business information that organizations publish for the public through directories, local discovery platforms, and publicly accessible map listings — such as name, address, phone number, website, category, opening hours, and publicly shown ratings.
Public websites and company pages
Public “Contact us” pages, public profiles, company websites, and marketing content published without access restrictions.
Public code and documentation repositories (including GitHub)
Public repositories, README files, and openly published documentation may include domains, contact references, or technical signals related to publicly described businesses or projects. We only use content that is public.
Public SSL/TLS certificate transparency logs
Certificate Transparency logs are published to strengthen web security. Publicly visible domains from those logs may be used as open signals for discovering an organization’s digital presence — without accessing private systems.
Cloud providers and public metadata
Information that providers or customers choose to publish publicly (for example public status pages, public documentation, declared domains, and unprotected public metadata). This does not include private consoles, secrets, keys, or authenticated resources.
Public DNS and internet infrastructure records
Public DNS records, WHOIS where publicly available, and other openly visible network indicators, within the legal limits of each jurisdiction.
Public media and commercial disclosures
Press releases, industry directories, official publications, and company information disclosed to the public.
3. What our records typically include
The platform focuses on publicly available business contact intelligence, such as:
- Business name, sector, and category
- Country, city, district, and address
- Phone numbers and websites when publicly available
- Public ratings, review counts, and opening hours
- Coordinates associated with public listings when available
4. What we do not collect
- Private or password-protected content
- Login credentials, secrets, or private API keys
- Leaked or stolen databases
- Interception of private communications or unauthorized traffic capture
- Sensitive personal data that is not publicly published
5. Lawful use and responsibility
LeadAtlas is a tool for discovering public business information. Each user is responsible for using results in compliance with applicable laws, including data-protection, electronic-marketing, and competition rules in their jurisdiction.
Public availability does not automatically authorize every downstream use. Fraud, harassment, unlawful spam, and any illegal activity are prohibited.
6. Accuracy and updates
Public sources change continuously. We make reasonable efforts to index and organize data, but we do not guarantee that every record is complete or current at all times. Users should verify contacts before large outreach campaigns.
