Privacy Policy
This page explains what we collect about you, why, how we protect it, and what you can ask us for at any time.
1. Two different kinds of data
The distinction matters, because different rules apply:
- Your account data: information about you as a user of the service. This page governs it.
- Business records: data about companies, drawn from publicly available sources. This is the content of the atlas itself. How it is collected is set out on our data sources page, and in section 9 below.
2. What we collect about you
- Account data: your name, email address, a hashed password, and your organisation name if you provide one.
- Billing data: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. We never receive or store card numbers on our servers.
- Usage data: counts of searches, API queries and export rows, along with your query text and filters — needed to meter allowances and prevent abuse.
- Visit log: for each page you open we record the IP address, browser and device, the page, the link you arrived from, and the time — to run the service, protect it from abuse, and understand how it is used. This is our own log on our own servers, not tracking across other sites.
- Your correspondence: what you send us by email when you ask for support.
3. Why we process it
- To run the service and let you sign in, search and export.
- To meter allowances, enforce plan limits and bill correctly.
- To protect the service from abuse and excessive automated use.
- To answer your support requests and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
4. Cookies
We set two functional cookies only: one to keep your session open, and one cross-site request forgery token. We use no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party trackers. We do not build interest profiles about you and we do not follow you across other sites.
5. Who else processes your data
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Our hosting provider — running the servers and databases.
- Google Fonts — typefaces load from Google's servers, which means your IP address reaches them when a page opens.
- ip-api.com — we look up the approximate country and city for an IP address for statistics. Only the address is sent, it is looked up once, and the answer is then kept by us.
We do not sell your account data, rent it, or trade it with anyone for marketing purposes.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as the account exists. After deletion we remove account data, retaining the minimum billing records for the period our accounting and legal obligations require. Usage logs are held for a limited period for security and abuse prevention.
7. Security
The site runs entirely over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed and cannot be reversed, and server access is limited to authorised people. No system can promise absolute security, but we take any incident affecting your data seriously and will notify you where we are required to.
8. Your rights
At any time you can ask us for:
- a copy of your account data;
- correction of anything inaccurate;
- deletion of your account and its data;
- an end to non-essential service messages.
Write to sales@leadatlas.io from the address registered on the account and we will respond within a reasonable time.
9. Business records and removal requests
Records in the atlas describe businesses rather than individuals, and are gathered from publicly published sources. If you own or represent a business and believe a record contains something inaccurate, includes personal data that should not be published, or should be removed for a legitimate reason, write to sales@leadatlas.io identifying the record and the reason. We will review it and correct or remove where there is a basis to do so.
10. Transfers outside your country
Your data may be processed on servers outside the country you live in, including those of our hosting provider and Stripe. We apply the same standards described here wherever it is held.
11. Children
The service is intended for business use and is not directed at anyone under 18, whose data we do not knowingly collect.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the date at the top of the page shows the latest revision. For any privacy question: sales@leadatlas.io
